Physical Description-
1,2-Dichlorobenzene, or orthodichlorobenzene (ODCB), is an organic compound with the formula C6H4Cl2. This colourless liquid is poorly soluble in water but miscible with most organic solvents. It is a derivative of benzene, consisting of two adjacent chlorine centers.
It is mainly used as a precursor chemical in the synthesis of agrochemicals, as a preferred solvent for dissolving and working with fullerenes, as an insecticide, and in softening and removing carbon-based contamination on metal surfaces.
1,2-Dichlorobenzene is obtained as a side-product of the production of chlorobenzene:
C6H
5Cl + Cl
2 → C
6H
4Cl
2 + HCl
The reaction also affords the 1,4- and small amounts of the 1,3-isomer. The 1,4- isomer is preferred over the 1,2- isomer due to steric hindrance. The 1,3- isomer is uncommon because it is a meta- compound, while chlorine, like all halogens, is a ortho/para- directors in terms of electrophilic aromatic substitution.
It is mainly used as a precursor to 1,2-dichloro-4-nitrobenzene, an intermediate in the synthesis of agrochemicals. In terms of niche applications, 1,2-dichlorobenzene is a versatile, high-boiling solvent. It is a preferred solvent for dissolving and working with fullerenes. It is an insecticide for termites and locust borers, historically used by the United States Forest Service to combat widespread bark beetle outbreaks.
1,2-Dichlorobenzene is also used in softening and removing carbon-based contamination on metal surfaces

Sodium sulfate (also known as sodium sulphate or sulfate of soda) is the inorganic compound with formula Na2SO4 as well as several related hydrates. All forms are white solids that are highly soluble in water. With an annual production of 6 million tonnes, the decahydrate is a major commodity chemical product. It is mainly used for the manufacture of detergents and in the kraft process of paper pulping
Sodium sulfate is a typical electrostatically bonded ionic sulfate. The existence of free sulfate in solution is indicated by the easy formation of insoluble sulfates when these solutions are treated with Ba2+ or Pb2+ salts:
Na2SO4 + BaCl2 → 2 NaCl + BaSO4Sodium sulfate is unreactive toward most oxidizing or reducing agents. At high temperatures, it can be converted to sodium sulfide by carbothermal reduction (high temperature heating with charcoal, etc.):[6]
Na2SO4 + 2 C → Na2S + 2 CO2This reaction was employed in the Leblanc process, a defunct industrial route to sodium carbonate.
Sodium sulfate reacts with sulfuric acid to give the acid salt sodium bisulfate:[7][8]
Na2SO4 + H2SO4 2 NaHSO4Sodium sulfate displays a moderate tendency to form double salts. The only alums formed with common trivalent metals are NaAl(SO4)2 (unstable above 39 °C) and NaCr(SO4)2, in contrast to potassium sulfate and ammonium sulfate which form many stable alums.[9] Double salts with some other alkali metal sulfates are known, including Na2SO4·3K2SO4 which occurs naturally as the mineral aphthitalite. Formation of glaserite by reaction of sodium sulfate with potassium chloride has been used as the basis of a method for producing potassium sulfate, a fertiliser.[10] Other double salts include 3Na2SO4·CaSO4, 3Na2SO4·MgSO4 (vanthoffite) and NaF·Na2SO4

- Chronic: Prolonged or repeated skin contact may cause dermatitis.
First Aid Measures
- Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with running water for at least 15 minutes, keeping eyelids open.
- Skin Contact: In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water. Cover the irritated skin with an emollient. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.
- Inhalation: If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.
- Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel.
Handling and Storage
Precautions:
- Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.
- Ground all equipment containing material.
- Do not ingest. Do not breathe gas/fumes/ vapor/spray.
- Wear suitable protective clothing. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment.
- Keep the container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
- Keep the container tightly closed and sealed until ready for use.
- Avoid all possible sources of ignition (spark or flame). Sensitive to light.
Toxic Effects on Humans
- Mutagenic for bacteria and/or yeast. May cause damage to the liver, central nervous system (CNS).
- Eyes: Causes eye irritation, redness, pain. May cause eye injury. Eye contact produces immediate smarting, but there is no permanent injury if exposure is brief.
- Inhalation: Mist or vapour cause respiratory tract (nose, throat), irritation. Symptoms may include coughing, shortness of breath.
- It may be absorbed into the bloodstream with symptoms similar to ingestion.

Physical Description-
2-Nitrochlorobenzene is an organic compound with the formula ClC H NO It is one of three isomeric nitrochlorobenzenes. It is a yellow crystalline solid that is important as a precursor to other compounds due to its two functional groups.
Uses-
2-Nitrochlorobenzene is not valuable in itself but is a precursor to other useful compounds. The compound is particularly useful because both of its reactive sites can be utilized to create further compounds that are mutually ortho. Its derivative 2-chloroaniline is a precursor to 3,3’-dichlorobenzidine, itself a precursor to many dyes and pesticides.
It is used in the synthesis of quetiapine & Clotiapine.

Physical Description-
Calcium carbonate is a chemical compound with the formula CaCO3. It is a common substance found in rocks as the minerals calciteand aragonite (most notably as limestone, which is a type of sedimentary rock consisting mainly of calcite) and is the main component of pearls and the shells of marine organisms, snails, and eggs. Calcium carbonate is the active ingredient in agricultural lime and is created when calcium ions in hard water react with carbonate ions to create limescale. It is medicinally used as a calcium supplement or as an antacid, but excessive consumption can be hazardous
